FORK TO FARM CAMPAIGN

ILLUSTRATING BENEFITS NOT TO BE BIOWASTE-D

The quest

Even the best of us zero-waste warriors have thrown away leftovers. Food waste of some sort is inevitable. But according to UN data we waste 79 kg of food per person per year! On a worldwide scale that translates to at least one billion meals of edible food being wasted in households every single day!

In Europe, despite mandatory collection starting in January 2024, almost 75% of bio-waste still ends up in landfills or is incinerated. So Zero Waste Europe and its network wanted to create an impactful campaign to raise awareness about the lack of compliance with the regulation across much of Europe. That’s when our design wizards were summoned.

The magic formula

The #ForkToFarm campaign aims to change the status quo for bio-waste in Europe, ensuring that municipalities have the right knowledge, support, and resources so that food waste generated by households and businesses can be captured and managed properly to enrich our soils. Win-win!

So we created every necessary tool our clients and their partners across Europe could use to create an attractive and impactful online campaign. These include a simple and direct visual identity, cute hand-drawn illustrations that the campaign audiences can see themselves in and editable templates for all types of content – optimised for online media, like social media platforms, newsletters and landing pages.

Campaign logo & Visual identity

We created a unique hand-drawn logo and visual identity for the campaign that can easily be adapted for all sorts of digital communication assets.

Campaign illustrations

Based on the client’s mission and the unique selling points of proper bio-waste management, we designed a series of positive illustrations of various complexity levels.

Editable templates

Partner posts

Zero Waste Europe and its local partners made the best out of the editable templates, playing around with the illustrations and flooding social media with creative multilingual images.

The happy ending

As awareness increases, bio-waste capture has increased from 16% to 26% of its theoretical potential and the fight continues…
