We took the party to the streets.
The Council of the European Union wanted to celebrate IDAHOT 2019 through an educational awareness event. The aim of the event was to help parents understand their LGBTIQ+ kids better.
They asked us to create an impactful visual identity for the event and an online campaign to promote attendance and to highlight the key messages from the speeches.
In an attempt to normalise a topic that remains to this day a taboo, we ended up sprinkling the vivid colours of the rainbow of pride all over Brussels and the web.
We came up with the concept that reflected the spirit of the event: “We don’t care if our kids are straight or not, we’d raise them in the exact same way”.
We created eye-catching visuals for social media content, including Instagram stories and Facebook posts, to go beyond simply communicating the event but also promoting the Council’s values all over the EU.
We took the party to the streets.
And the big day finally arrived.
The client loved how simple yet powerful the concept was. The campaign received a lot of praise online and was shared way beyond the EU bubble’s usual crowd. The event was fully booked and the speeches were as impactful as the campaign messages. But most importantly, at least one child encountered a more empathetic and evolved parent that evening, and this made it all worth our while.
